Sucré · Toronto
Policies & Terms
This page sets out the policies and terms that govern your use of sucre.to and your relationship with Sucré as a client. By using this website or engaging Sucré for a commission, you agree to the terms below.
Publishing Principles
At Sucré, our mission is to delight our clients with exquisite pastry and confectionery, and to enrich their understanding through relevant educational content. Our website focuses on two areas:
- Product Showcase: We present our range of handcrafted cakes, pastries, and desserts, highlighting the artistry, quality ingredients, and dedication that go into each creation.
- Educational Content: We provide informative materials aimed at enhancing the understanding of custom cake commissioning, design, and confectionery for our current and prospective clients.
Our content is tailored for individuals who appreciate fine pastry and are interested in commissioning a bespoke creation. We strive to inspire, educate, and engage our audience through high-quality, visually considered, and accurate content.
Ownership & Funding
Sucré is a self-funded, privately owned artisan patisserie based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We do not receive any external funding or grants. Our operations are sustained entirely through commissions and the sale of our products and services, allowing us to maintain full creative independence and focus on delivering exceptional quality to every client.
The Consultation Process
Sucré operates exclusively on a commission basis. We do not maintain a walk-in storefront or accept same-day orders. All commissions are planned in advance through a structured consultation process.
How It Works
All client relationships begin with an enquiry submitted through our Get a Quote form. This initiates a conversation — not a binding order. Submitting an enquiry does not create a financial obligation on either party.
Enquiry & Response
Once your enquiry is received, the Sucré team will review your event date, requirements, and design vision and respond to confirm availability. Response times vary by season; we endeavour to reply within 2–3 business days. If your date is unavailable, we will let you know promptly so you can make alternative arrangements.
Quote & Design Discussion
If your date is available, we will provide a personalised quote based on your serving requirements, design complexity, flavour selections, and delivery zone. Quotes are valid for a specified period and are subject to change if your requirements change materially. No design work or production is commenced until a deposit is received.
Confirmation & Deposit
Your commission is confirmed upon receipt of a non-refundable 50% deposit. By paying the deposit, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the Commission Agreement available at sucre.to/commission-agreement, which governs all terms specific to your order including design, delivery, and cancellation policy.
Minimum Lead Time
Sucré requires a minimum of two weeks' notice for all commissions. Certain products — including our Sourdough Loaf, which requires a 72-hour fermentation process — may require additional lead time. Advance notice requirements for specific products are noted on the relevant product pages. We strongly recommend booking as early as possible for weddings and large events.
Personal Information Collected
Through the enquiry and commission process, Sucré collects the following information solely for the purpose of fulfilling your order: your name, email address, phone number, event date, event type, delivery address, and design preferences. This information is not sold, shared with third parties for marketing purposes, or used for any purpose beyond fulfilling your commission. See Section 16 for full privacy details.
Order Policy & Payment Terms
- Order Confirmation: Orders are considered confirmed once a deposit or full payment is received.
- Pricing & Adjustments: Prices are subject to change without notice. Quotes are valid for a specified period and may be revised if your requirements change.
- Deposits & Cancellations: A non-refundable 50% deposit is required for all custom cake commissions. Orders cancelled within a specified timeframe before the scheduled pickup or delivery date may not be eligible for a refund of any remaining balance. Cancellation terms are outlined in full in the Commission Agreement.
- Refunds & Order Changes: Due to the perishable and bespoke nature of our products, we do not offer refunds once an order is completed and delivered. Minor design adjustments may be possible before production commences but cannot be guaranteed after order confirmation.
- Balance Payment: The remaining balance is due prior to delivery or pickup as specified at the time of booking.

Inspired Designs & Custom Orders
We create cakes inspired by various themes, characters, and logos based on client requests. Sucré does not claim ownership of or affiliation with any third-party intellectual property, including trademarks, brand logos, or copyrighted characters referenced in client briefs.
Client Responsibility
By placing an order with a design inspired by an existing work, the client acknowledges responsibility for obtaining any necessary permissions from rights holders, if required.
Fair Use & Parody
Some designs may fall under fair use or parody; however, we do not guarantee that all requested designs will meet these criteria. Sucré reserves the right to decline any order that may infringe on copyright or trademark protections.
Photography & Portfolio Use
Sucré retains the right to photograph completed commissions and use such photography for portfolio, marketing, and social media purposes, unless the client has explicitly requested otherwise in writing at the time of booking.

Our website may contain links to third-party websites for your convenience. Sucré is not responsible for examining or evaluating the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party websites and assumes no liability for any third-party materials, transactions, or interactions.
